I am the most sweetest & loving child there ever could be..... I have
seen more violence in my little life than most have in a life time..... At 5 years old & with my mom.........................
I know.... what drugs are.
I know what it is like to go hungry.
I know what it feels like to get kicked & punched, by mom & her
boy friends.
I know what it feels like to be told not to sleep on the bed or couch but
I have to sleep on the floor.
I'm only 5 years old &
I know what it feels like to watch mama give my toys away because she doesn't think I need them, just
because daddy bought them.
I know what it is like to watch my older brothers get candy & eat it in front of me &
tell me no I can't have any just to make me cry.
I know whats it like to made to stay in bed & be hungry & want to play all day & I'm not
sick.
I'm 5 years old &.....
I know what it's like for my brothers to take away my toys & break them just to make me cry.
I know what it's like to never know where I am going to sleep one night from the
next.
I know what it's like not to have a home when I am with mom.
I know what it's like to have a nightmare & no one comforts me.
BUT.....................................................................
I KNOW what it's like being with my dad..................
I know what a big loving hug feels like.
I know what I love you means
I know what it feels like when daddy says my prayers with me.
I know what daddy's boy means.
I know that I don't have to worry about eating there is always food.
I know what it feels like for us to brush our teeth together & daddy lets me style my hair & we
laugh.
I know what it feels like to know no one is going to hurt me when I'm with daddy & his family.
I know what it feels like to pick out what I want to snack on & no one don't makes me
cry.
I know what it's like to get up to a breakfast & play.
I know what a big warm bed feels like to snuggle up in & be safe.
I'm 5 years old & I know what it's like to get toys from my dad & he don't give them away.
I know what it's like to have a home with daddy.
AND I KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE WHEN I HAVE A NIGHTHMARE AT DADDY'S......... He takes me in his arms, he
holds me, kisses my forehead & says son it's ok Daddy is here with you & daddy holds me close, & I snuggle up
with my daddy and sleep.
I'M 5 YEARS OLD AND I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE HAPPY & SAFE & SECURE WHEN I AM WITH MY DAD.
And my Dan-Daw & Mee-Mee makes me feel safe too.
I know what it's like to be loved.
But how long before I know I will stay safe with mom ????? I
don't know........ We don't know.......
